Job Summary:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for quality control testing and reporting duties in the concrete and aggregates testing laboratory. Individual is responsible for pulling samples from stock piles, testing and evaluating materials and comparing it to the specifications. • Assist Plant Manager
• Coordinate work with other regional management personnel, i.e., Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Dispatch to better serve the customer
• Attend pre-job meetings and provide input on issues that may impact product quality
• Inspect, inventory and pull samples from stockpiles and materials from conveyor belts
• Participate in pre-job bidding preparation; prepare project submittals
• Conduct aggregate testing as per applicable (ATSM, WSDOT, etc.) test methods
• Assist with trial batches (i.e. preparing and weighing up material, running applicable ACI tests, etc.)
• Enter data into Stonemont (i.e. mix designs, break results, etc.)
• Prepare & analyze reports (i.e. compressive strength, gradations, etc.) to determine how to optimize mix performance
• Schedule Field Technicians’ daily duties
• Handle and provide solutions for project problems and complaints
• Keep current on lab certification(s)
• Obtain & maintain all necessary ACI, OSHA, and MSHA certifications
• Pull aggregate samples for customers, sales staff and aggregate production staff
• Accurately enter field and lab reports on test data; maintain daily records of all test data
• Update and distribute monthly reports to sales staff
• Perform all aspects of stripping, curing, capping and compression testing
• Report concrete cylinder strength tests according to ACI standards
• Enter test results into a computer database and distribute reports
• Gather cement, fly ash, and aggregate materials at production plants in preparation for concrete trial batch tests
• Accurately weigh each material as listed on the trial batch sheets & set-up equipment for trial testing
• Maintain equipment and calibrations for equipment

Degree in Concrete Management, Civil Engineering (preferred) or related field or minimum 5 years’ experience

• Experience in construction industry or related outdoor work
• Knowledge of concrete and aggregate testing with respect to current ATSM and AASHTO standards
• Good organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills
• Use of hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers
• Ability to perform these motions is mandatory: climbing, driving, riding, stooping, bending, squatting, twisting, frequent lifting of up to 75 pounds, occasional lifting of 100 pounds, stretching, sitting, pushing/pulling of controls, riding on rough terrain, and walking on uneven ground and stairs
• Must be self-motivated and able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision, safely and efficiently
• Must be computer literate, with a working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word applications)
• Work environment is in a Lab and outdoors in the field (in all weather conditions)
• Overtime work plus nights as required/flexible hours
• Ability to safely lift and handle material samples weighing 75 pounds
• Must be willing to train for other tasks as required
• Good math skills, including basic statistics and estimating
• Valid WA driver's license and clean driving record
• Certifications in ACI Field Grade I, ACI Lab I and II, ACI Strength Testing and ACI Aggregates Testing preferred or if no current certifications, must obtain ACI Aggregate and ACI Strength technician certification within 3 months of hire date and ACI Field Grade within 6 months of hire date

• 5+ years’ experience in construction industry or related outdoor work
• Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite knowledge

Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidate must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
