Loan Officer

MountainCrest Credit Union is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working individual to join our team as a Loan Officer. Primarily responsible for processing and underwriting consumer and home equity loans, and for providing high quality member service to our membership.

 

Primary Duties:

The Loan Officer will be primarily responsible for processing and underwriting consumer and home equity loans, and for providing high quality member service to our membership.They must consistently uphold the mission, vision, and core values of the credit union and positively contribute to and enhance the quality of our work environment. It will also be necessary to have the proven capacity to interact in a professional, respectful and dignified manner in all situations.

 

Product Knowledge:

The Loan Officer will be required to have knowledge in standard workplace programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. It will also be required to become knowledgeable in all computer programs and software specific to the credit union. The Loan Officer must demonstrate a thorough understanding of all credit union offered products and services to effectively fulfill our member’s needs.

 

Summary of Requirements:

  • The ability to multi-task, handle a variety of loans simultaneously, and work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Must be able to efficiently complete the entire loan process: accepting/creating a loan application, underwriting the loan to produce a logical loan decision, fund the loan.   
  • The ability and willingness to provide strong sales and service in an active environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff and our membership.
  • Must strive to continuously enhance an effective teamwork environment that contributes to a high standard for members and fellow employees.

 

Experience:

A minimum experience of 3+ years in a related field within a credit union or retail environment is preferred. Underwriting experience is also preferred.

 

Education:

High School graduate or equivalent required, Associate Degree or higher preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
