SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB :
Performs repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of commercial, industrial, and residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Apprises Supervisor of unique situations and problems encountered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS :
Repairs, overhauls, maintain, and services HVAC equipment and control systems.
Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, motors, etc.
Works from blueprints, drawings, models, and/or verbal, written instructions.
Performs occasional painting and touch up of structures and equipment.
Must be available for after-hours dispatch and on-call rotation.
Maintains EPA, Navy, and WCFSI required refrigeration documentation
Accountable For :
Timely and cost effective performance of duties.
Adheres to company policies and regulations
Work closely and harmoniously with fellow workers and maintain professional relationship with Navy environmental personnel and all internal and external customers.
Must be able to resolve conflicts at the lowest levels.
Seamless coordination with Leads, Supervisors and Managers to outline work required; then to follow up to ensure company and contractual objectives are achieved.
Expected to work independently, with minimum supervision.
Supports, follows, and enforces the Company?s Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety. This includes, at a minimum, weekly shop personnel safety training and adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills. Follows established safety procedures and utilize safety protective equipment and clothing when required.
Follow all Federal, State and Local safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Ensures proper housekeeping practices are observed in all areas of responsibility to include maintenance shops, shop maintenance vehicles, outlying maintenance areas, mechanical rooms, jobsites, etc.
May respond to emergency situations during or after hours, holidays and weekends for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns. Be available on-call within one hour after the Governments request after regular hours.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Mandatory
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
Three (3) years? verifiable experience as a commercial HVAC technician or at the journeyman level.
Refrigeration transition and recovery technician certification, Type III (Universal).
DDC and pneumatic control experience.
Communicate, both orally and in writing, in the English language.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and post-offer drug screen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid State Driver?s License with acceptable driving record.
US Citizenship.
Ability to successfully pass a RAPIDGate Clearance, post-employment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level clearance, post-employment.
Preferred
Experience working with Governmental agencies, BOS contracting.
Confined space entry training (certified entrant/attendant/supervisor.)
DOT Hazardous Materials Training in compliance with 49 CFR 171 - 181.
Respiratory protection training/qualified.
Computer literacy with Microsoft? Word, Excel, and Access software
Five (5) years? verifiable experience as a commercial HVAC technician at the journeyman level. With an emphasis on commercial refrigeration work experience.
Network DDC building environmental control experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
